Join Aaron Paquette as he shares from his novel Lightfinder. Lightfinder is a Young Adult fantasy novel about Aisling, a young Cree woman who sets out into the wilderness with her Kokum (grandmother), Aunty and two young men she barely knows. They have to find and rescue her runaway younger brother, Eric. Along the way she learns that maybe the legends of her people are actually real and that she has a growing power of her own. Aaron Paquette is one of Canadaʼs premiere First Nations artists. He is a painter, writer, keynote speaker and workshop facilitator. He is also a political commentator, illustrator, goldsmith and cathedral stained glass artist.

Joan Marie Galat Tuesday October 25 7:00 pm Pincher Creek Library 899 Main Street Admission is free Joan’s books for children explore astronomy, ancient myths and legends, light pollution, history, and nature. Her newest title, published by Owlkids, is Branching Out – How Trees are part of Our World and her next release is Dot to Dot in the Sky, Stories of the Aurora. She shares her love of the stars in the Dot to Dot in the Sky series which combines the science of the night sky with the ancient myths that give constellations and planets their names. A prolific writer for all ages and relentless promoter of reading, Joan loves to use storytelling to connect with audiences.
